Case Study. Fiber optic installation to provide rural Internet connectivity

Emery Telecom needed a very custom installation in the harsh environment of rural Utah, to provide fiber optic connections so that the telecom company could service its customers. Atlantic Vision made it happen.

Emery Telcom is a telecom company, which provides phone service, DSL service, cable TV and cable internet to much of eastern and southeastern Utah.

The Challenge

“We had some extremely customized requirements for Atlantic Vision. They had to install the fiber optic cable and connections into a harsh, dry, rocky region,” the Emery Telecom customer explained. “Thousands of residential and commercial customers were relying on us to make sure they had a secure, reliable connection. This is the kind of job you want to get done right the first time and not have to worry about coming out and re-doing every couple of years.”

The environmental hazards were serious. “Temperatures go from scorching hot in the daytime to freezing cold at night. Then you’ve got flash floods, rodents, lizards, all kinds of weird factors that could wreck your connection. It’s really important to do the job right!”
